New England Pipe Restoration, Inc. Repairs McDonald's Pipes With Innovative Method
Leominster, MA (PRWEB) April 20, 2015 -- New England Pipe Restoration, Inc. provided restoration work for one of the world's largest companies without so much as a scratch to prove that they were there.
On the night of April 13, the pipe and sewage restoration company worked on the bathroom facilities for a local McDonald's restaurant in Springfield, MA. Specifically, they were repairing a heavily-corroded sewage pipe that came to the attention of the restaurant's proprietor after customers complained of major "backups."
New England Pipe Restoration, Inc. used a high-tech video camera to examine the pipe. Inserting it into the pipe itself, the repair team found the entire bottom of the cast iron pipe to be missing, rotted out by year's worth of corrosion.
"The pipe itself looked like an upside-down 'U' except with no bottom to it," said Bernie Tessier, the owner of New England Pipe Restoration, Inc.
Tessier claims that the pipe was one of the more severe cases of cast iron pipe failure that the team has seen in quite a while.
Three pipes in particular needed repairs: a 30-foot, 15-foot, and 12-foot long pipe, respectively. They were all 4 inches in diameter and were located under the McDonald's store and parking lot. Using traditional repair methods, New England Pipe Restoration, Inc. would have had to dig a large trench under the parking lot to access the pipes -- an option not very popular with the McDonald's employees and restoration team alike.
Fortunately for them, the team used a relatively-new method known as "trenchless pipe lining," which, as the name suggests, does not require digging a trench to replace the pipes. Rather, the team used a hypoxy resin liner to replace the pipes, injecting it into the original pipes and then expanding them, effectively replacing the old ones.
"More people are starting to understand that you don't have to dig up your whole yard to fix a pipe problem; that's a thing of the past. Trenchless pipe repairs make people's businesses a lot more efficient," Tessier said.
The work began on April 13 at 8 PM and finished the following morning at 8 AM. The repair project did not require the restaurant to shut down. The McDonald's was able to stay open during the entire time and were able to serve customers sans fuss.
Needless to say, they could not use the bathrooms.
The conventional trench repair method would have cost the business $30,000 and would have taken a week -- and that's not to mention the loss of business the company would have faced. Thankfully, the project only cost $12,000, took 12 hours, and resulted in no lost business.
