Myrtle Beach, SC (PRWEB) January 08, 2014 -- The Snowbird Company, the nation’s top snowbird lifestyle resource since 2002, is pleased to announce the growth of its signature Snowbird Fest event—a networking opportunity with entertainment and exhibits, designed to connect Snowbirds with their local winter communities—with Snowbird Fest East Coast, planned for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Saturday, February 1. The event takes place at The Hall at St. John’s, 3301 33rd Ave. Extension North, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from 9am to 1pm.
This event expands upon the existing Snowbird Fest, held annually on the Gulf Coast, which quickly grew from attracting just a couple of hundred Snowbird participants the first year to more than 2,000 last year, and even more expected this year. The 2014 Snowbird Fest Gulf Coast is Saturday, January 11, in Orange Beach, AL.
“We knew the time was right to expand to a second location, and we unanimously agreed that Myrtle Beach was the best place for Snowbird Fest East Coast,” said Chris Wright, co-owner of The Snowbird Company. The Snowbird Company includes both regional and state-specific highly visible websites catering to the snowbird lifestyle that receive more than 60 million hits a year. "We've seen tremendous success with South Carolina snowbirds interacting with property owners and managers on http://www.SouthCarolinaSnowbird.com for over a decade now, and wanted to expand that relationship to offer face-to-face opportunities combined with a fun festival environment of great food, music and entertainment."
“Our Snowbird Fests turn the virtual, online community into a real community, giving Snowbirds a chance to meet each other and learn more about their winter homes, whether along the Southern Atlantic Coast, from Virginia to Florida, on the Gulf Coast from the Florida Panhandle to Texas, or in the desert southwest and beyond,” Wright said.
The Snowbird Company's 'American Snowbird Network' websites, such as AmericanSnowbird.com, SouthCarolinaSnowbird.com, GeorgiaSnowbird.com, and FloridaSnowbird.com, offer an array of condominiums, homes, villas, and hotel rooms at discounted, offseason, multi-month rates as well as articles and other features geared toward what snowbirds want and need to know about their winter travel.
Based on the highly popular Gulf Coast Snowbird Fest, the 1st annual Snowbird Fest East Coast, Saturday, February 1, takes place at The Hall at St. John’s, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from 9am to 1pm. The day offers a full lineup of entertainment, information, local restaurant samplings, and networking opportunities for Snowbirds as well as the local businesses and others who welcome them. The event is free and open to the public, though registration is required. Attendees may register at the door by taking a quick survey, or save time by pre-registering online at http://www.snowbirdfest.com. “The advantage to pre-registering is that you won’t have to wait in line and, if you register online before midnight, Thursday, January 30, you will be entered to win one of three eReaders to be given away the day of the festival,” Wright said. Winners must be present at the event for the drawing.
“In addition to the exhibits, we have musical and other entertainment, including Magician, Chip Bunce and an Elvis impersonator, ‘King Shazaam’ Jeff Collins who also does ‘Rat Pack’ look-alike performances for Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.” Those wanting to follow the many announcements of our event can also Like our facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/snowbirdfest or follow our tweets at twitter.com/snowbirdrentals/.
Snowbird Fest is free to visitors and showcases the products and services of local businesses and organizations that cater to the snowbird lifestyle, with health screenings, games and contests, giveaways, and product and service samples, along with helpful info on homes for sale and discounted monthly or multi-month properties for rent. Snowbirds can sample local cuisine from restaurants, including the award-winning Mr. Fish, and get information on rentals from companies such as Elliott Realty, Blue Green Vacations, and Brittain Resort Management.
Registration for exhibitors and vendors for Snowbird Fest is still open. “Local companies wishing to promote their business, services, or products to the thousands of eager snowbirds in attendance are welcomed to take part, but exhibit space is limited so we encourage you to sign up now,” Wright said. Vendor/exhibitor booth rates start at $200. Nonprofit groups are welcomed to exhibit at a discounted rate. More information is available at http://snowbirdfest.com/eastcoast/exhibitor/.
