New Fish Powered Herb Garden Set to Kick Start an Aquaponics Revolution
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 -- Growing organic food faster, in less space, and with 90% less water is a reality. This growing method uses no soil and is scalable from small to very large systems. Endless Food Systems’ goal with this product launch is to let people easily and affordably experience firsthand how the symbiotic relationship works between fish & plants to grow food. Using the science of aquaponics, it’s possible to have systems large enough to feed a family, a community, or even an entire village. Once people see it, touch it, and experience it on a small scale, we expect many will want to try growing food with larger aquaponics systems.
Tabletop Aquaponics:
Chad Hudspeth, Founder of Endless Food Systems, has an eye for design. Not only is the new tabletop system a true and complete aquaponics eco-system, it is also beautifully designed and can liven up any room. This is perfect to use for an indoor herb garden with very low maintenance; the fish tank is self-cleaning. We are currently running a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo with pre-order perks available on this and other systems. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/fish-powered-herb-garden-tabletop-aquaponics
What Is Aquaponics?
Aquaponics is a micro eco-system that mimics nature in a sustainable way with plants, fish and good bacteria. No chemicals or pesticides can be used because it could kill the bacteria or fish so by default it is completely organic. Take it to the next level by only planting non GMO seeds and you now have a truly PURE food source. Plants grow much faster in a smaller amount of space compared to growing food in the ground. It is perpetual which means, in a properly run system, it can keep growing food (plants and fish) if managed correctly. The only inputs needed are food for the fish (which could be grown in the system) and a small amount of electricity. Larger systems can be designed so the fish reproduce and provide a long term source of edible, pure fish.
The Revolution:
There is an Aquaponics Revolution that has been gaining momentum for the last few years in the United States and around the world. We feel the interest level is nearing a tipping point where a larger percentage of the population will understand the term ‘aquaponics’ in the near future and begin their journey to pure food independence.
Gaining National Exposure:
Endless Food Systems is proud to be a part of this revolution along with many others. We are excited to announce our aquaponics systems will be featured on The National Geographic Channel’s TV Show Doomsday Preppers scheduled to air on November 5th, 9th, and 12th, 2013.
