New Game Changing Digital ‘Business Card Exchange’ Within Event App Improves Networking, Swapping of Contact Details, and Post-Show Engagement
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (PRWEB) October 12, 2016 -- Presdo, the creators of a networking app for live events, has released a brand new feature to improve the exchange of contact details for event-goers. Called “Business Card Exchange,” the new feature utilizes technology built into most smartphones to identify others within close proximity to exchange contact details (“digital business cards”) with just the tap of a button.
Business Card Exchange allows event participants utilizing the Presdo Match app to simply exchange digital business cards with other at events by displaying who’s nearby and ready for info exchange. One attendee makes a request to exchange and upon the other user approving the request, business cards are exchanged in approximately a second. Each attendee can control and customize the details on their own business card. After business cards are exchanged, users can:
- Add notes about their new contact, including the nature of the connection
- Set up quick follow-up reminders and notes
- Contact the other party directly via phone call or email
- View the profile of the contact, usually sourced from LinkedIn
- Save the contact details directly to the phone’s address book
- Export contacts via CSV file into CRM platforms, Microsoft Outlook, and other platforms
Advantages extend beyond the actual users of Business Card Exchange to the organizers putting on events. The feature provides organizers with a new layer of insight into the interactions of participants through the activity of exchanged business cards and the face-to-face relationships that have formed at their events.
“With digital business card exchange, Presdo has created an innovative yet valuable approach to contact exchange and lead capture that will benefit all user and partner conferences. It gives events and their partners a clear way to measure ROI from networking activities during events by the contacts exchanged," says Sarah Woodberry, founder of Woodberry Events, who worked with Salesforce.com to execute the Dreamforce conference.
Presdo Match’s Business Card Exchange is game changing in a few ways:
Eliminates the need for printed business cards—With nearly every professional owning a smartphone, digital business cards are always on hand, they don’t get lost, and the data is easier to integrate into CRM systems for follow-up and event analytics.
No need for extra hardware (and its cost)—Whether it’s attendees exchanging business cards or exhibitors capturing leads, this simple digital means to connect does not require proprietary hardware so there is no need to rent lead capture devices during trade shows.
Networking extends beyond the show floor—Exhibitors, sponsors and attendees can also use the feature to capture contact details anywhere around the event, not just in the expo hall with traditional lead retrieval systems.

“Presdo Match is ‘LinkedIn for events.’ The pain point we have been solving is that at events, it's difficult to make the right connections and largely relies on serendipity,” said Eric Ly, CEO of Presdo, who was also a LinkedIn co-founder. “We’ve built private social networks around conferences that enables people to have meaningful interactions. With Business Card Exchange, there is a direct way to measure the impact of networking and relationship building from events.”
