New Hampshire Criminal Lawyers Justin Shepherd & Mark Osborne Named Super Lawyers Rising Star 2013
Nashua, New Hampshire (PRWEB) November 15, 2013 -- Super Lawyers has announced their 2013 selections for Super Lawyers Rising Stars in New Hampshire and Attorney Mark Osborne & Justin Shepherd are honored to be a part of this list. Rising Stars are made up of no more than the top two point five (2.5%) percent of all attorneys in the state. Each year, Super Lawyers recognizes the top lawyers in New Hampshire. These attorneys are selected via peer nomination, independent research and peer evaluation. Those New Hampshire lawyers who receive the highest point totals during the nomination, research and peer review process are further recognized in New Hampshire Super Lawyers Top Lists.
Selection Qualifications
To qualify as a Rising Star, an attorney must be age 40 or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less. Potential candidates are then ranked by an attorney-led research team and assigned points based on a set of defined evaluation criteria.
The list of this year's Super Lawyers will be published in a supplement to the November 2013 issue of Boston magazine and in New England Super Lawyers, published by Thomson Reuters. In addition, Attorney Shepherd & Osborne’s selection will be listed in The Top Attorneys in New Hampshire section of the April 2014 issue.

Super Lawyers Selection Process is Patented
Super Lawyers Selection Process Patented by The United States Patent and Trademark Office
In April 2013, the Super Lawyers selection process received a patent (U.S. Pat. No. 8,412,564) from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. This distinction is relevant to both attorneys and consumers, as it further demonstrates credibility as an impartial third-party rating system.
Super Lawyers were recently granted U.S. patent relating to lawyer-ratings. They take credibility very seriously, and having a patent assures customers that they strive to be innovation leaders in the quality of the ratings.
Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a patented multiphase selection process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis.
The objective is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel. Since Super Lawyers is intended to be used as an aid in selecting a lawyer, we limit the lawyer ratings to those who can be hired and retained by the public, i.e., lawyers in private practice and Legal Aid attorneys.
The Super Lawyers patented selection process involves three basic steps: creation of the candidate pool; evaluation of candidates by the research department; and peer evaluation by practice area.
