New Hampshire Launches Website, Concierge Service & Competition Dedicated to Tech Startups
Concord, NH (PRWEB) April 24, 2015 -- New Hampshire, the 5th best state for entrepreneurs to start a business, is making a serious push to recruit and cultivate tech startups. Today, the Live Free and Start initiative launched a dynamic new website, http://www.LiveFreeandStart.com, implemented the nation’s first Startup Concierge Service, and announced the “Ultimate NH Connection” competition.
Live Free and Start is a joint initiative of the Governor’s Office, the New Hampshire Business Finance Authority and the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development aimed at creating jobs and making it easier for innovation-based companies to start, grow and succeed.
“The new website offers tech entrepreneurs the ability to access critical information and resources they need to start their business in New Hampshire, immerse themselves in our thriving startup ecosystem and make connections with experts who can help accelerate their businesses,” said Liz Gray, New Hampshire’s Director of Entrepreneurship. “The website highlights New Hampshire’s robust network of business incubators and offers a guide to obtaining funding from angels, VC’s, and investors.”
Gray continued, “New Hampshire is a state that is built on connections. Our business leaders and government officials are highly accessible and extremely supportive of new businesses. This is highlighted by our first in the nation Startup Concierge Service and Ultimate NH Connection competition which accelerates this process for tech startups.”
Live Free and Start’s Startup Concierge Service connects tech innovators to the precise resources they need to help launch their businesses. Whether its connections to funding, linking with business incubators or introductions to legal or marketing expertise, the Startup Concierge Service will offer a rapid response to any tech entrepreneur in need of assistance. Business can connect with the Startup Concierge Service directly from http://www.LiveFreeandStart.com.
Live Free and Start’s “Ultimate NH Connection” competition, also launched today, enables any entrepreneur or innovator who has started or is planning to launch a tech company in New Hampshire to compete for a chance to win the Ultimate New Hampshire Connection -- a coveted hour-long meeting with Governor Maggie Hassan and a roundtable of tech industry leaders who will help connect them with resources to help accelerate their business. Eligibility rules and application information is available at http://www.LiveFreeandStart.com. Entries for the Ultimate NH Connection competition will be accepted online until May 15, 2015 and a winner will be selected in early June.
New Hampshire’s high tech sector employs nearly 44,000 people and contributes nearly $3 billion to the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in salaries. The state is home to several successful tech corporations, such as DEKA, founded by legendary inventor and National Medal of Technology winner Dean Kamen, and Dyn, a cloud-based internet performance provider to the most visited web properties in the world such as Twitter, SoundCloud, The Guardian and others.
Dyn has more than 400 employees worldwide, with 75 percent of that workforce in downtown Manchester, New Hampshire. The company has been named one of the Most Democratic Workplaces in the World and was inducted into the New Hampshire Hall of Fame as an Employer of Choice. With 24 successive quarters of revenue growth, international expansion, and $38 million in venture funding, CEO and co-founder Jeremy Hitchcock could have located his company anywhere in the country, but chose New Hampshire and continues to expand here.
"Although Dyn is a global company, New Hampshire is our home,” said Hitchcock. “It is a special place to stay, work and play - especially for a company that wants to start and scale. As part of the Boston ecosystem, we have great universities and some of the best talent."
The state’s tech ecosystem has birthed several successful and innovative companies including:
- Align Revenue – Manchester - software helps B2B companies align their sales and marketing efforts to the buyer journey. Its cloud-based solutions radically improve buyer approach, messaging, outreach, and engagement, resulting in higher conversion rates and revenue - http://alignrevenue.com
- Adored – Manchester – a transformative customer loyalty and engagement app that rewards customers for trips to the coffee shop, restaurant or theatre and makes punch cards, key chain tags and scanning QR codes obsolete - http://www.adored.com.
