New Hires at San Francisco Office of Perkins Eastman Continues Expansion of Firm's West Coast Practices in Senior Living, Healthcare, and Urban Design
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 23, 2014 -- The West Coast leadership of international design and architecture firm Perkins Eastman is pleased to announce the addition of eight new staff members to its San Francisco office. These additions will serve to strengthen an already busy design team that is making its presence known both in the U.S. and internationally, particularly in the areas of healthcare and senior living design. Key hires include Associate Tammy Lin AIA, Anirudh Dhawan LEED GA, Michael Dungca AIA, McCall Wood, Britney Gamble, Claudia Senderowicz and Madeleine Zayas-Mart Assoc. AIA, in addition to new Marketing Manager Barbara Speer. Perkins Eastman’s growing San Francisco office mirrors the firm’s core strengths in senior living, planning, multi-family housing, hospitality and healthcare.
A particularly active market sector is senior living for which Perkins Eastman is a national leader. The need for new and innovative senior housing models is bigger than ever. “With an average of 10,000 boomers retiring every day, developers are scrambling to keep up with the demand for senior housing models that are both versatile and affordable,” says Leslie Moldow FAIA, Managing Principal of the San Francisco office and one of the firm’s Senior Living practice area leaders. New and ongoing senior living projects are located throughout California, as well as Alaska, Hawaii, British Columbia and China.
As an urban planner and housing designer with more than 15 years of experience, new hire Madeleine Zayas-Mart Assoc. AIA will further strengthen the firm’s national and international urban design practice area with anticipated local planning projects. The booming Bay Area economy has also created a growing demand for hotels and other hospitality projects, which is a key focus of Senior Associate Matthew Becker’s work, who just finished designing the interiors for The Quin, a sophisticated boutique hotel in New York City.
Healthcare projects continue to be another cornerstone of the San Francisco office. Under the leadership of Principal Rick Drake AIA and Associate Principal John L. Miller AIA, the West Coast team is continuously exploring new technologies and patient treatment models that are evolving the look and experience of healthcare design. New projects in the western U.S., Canada, and eastern Turkey are currently on Perkins Eastman’s docket. In addition to senior living and healthcare, the newly expanded team will likewise enhance the firm’s multi-family housing, interior design, and large-scale planning practice areas.
