New Horizon Security Services, Inc. Increases Green Footprint, Innovates Security Services With Electric Bicycles
Manassas, VA (PRWEB) April 22, 2014 -- New Horizon Security Services, Inc. (New Horizon Security), a privately-owned security firm, announces today that it has continued to expand the effectiveness and quality of its security services, while increasing the company’s overall green footprint, with the help of Pedego Electric Bicycles. The initial success of these vehicles at Danville Community College (DCC) in Danville, VA, has led to the use of them throughout New Horizon Security’s Richmond Branch office.
The electric bicycles replace older, larger vehicles and bring a host of benefits and significant, measurable results, including:
• Decreased Cost of Operation - Virtually no maintenance is needed to the bicycles, and they are able to easily maneuver in tight spaces. No fuel is required as well, as the bicycles operate with an electric motor that is charged overnight in a standard wall outlet. To date the electric bicycles have no cost to operate. New Horizon Security does have a Hybrid Toyota Prius onsite as a back-up vehicle, which uses only $60-80 worth of fuel per month, with minimal repair costs.
• Significantly Increased Green Footprint -The electric bicycles have no emissions and do not add to the carbon footprint in an already high emissions region, such as Richmond, as a result of often congested downtown operations.
• Enhanced Operations and Quality in Security Services - The electric bicycles have enabled New Horizon Security to enhance performance through increased response times; expanded coverage area and reduced officer fatigue; the ability to patrol tight areas such as alleys, trails and pathways; and due to its compact size and navigability, the electric bikes eliminate delays caused by traffic congestion in downtown areas. The bicycles eliminate the ‘steel barrier’ often caused by cars, and spur greater conversation between our security officers and members of the public.
