New IBC Certified Product App Launched by The VMC Group
Bloomingdale, NJ (PRWEB) June 13, 2014 -- The VMC Group is pleased to announce the launch of an Android App that mirrors the search, sort and function features found on http://www.ibcapproval.com, a website that was launched by the company in 2013 that has since grown in popularity among those looking to specify components that are IBC® certified. The App can be downloaded through Google Play. A companion shortcut was developed for Apple devices that allows users to download a quick link to their desktop for quick and easy access to IBC® certified products listed on http://www.ibcapproval.com. The launch of the app and shortcut amplify the company’s continued commitment to become a leading resource for IBC® certified products.
“The App was designed to be a resource to assist design engineers in quickly and easily identifying components from manufacturers that are IBC® compliant. By downloading the App or shortcut, users can quickly and easily navigate The VMC Group’s IBC® certified listing by scrolling through the entire list of VMA’s issued or by using convenient drop down menus to search by company name or product type. In addition, the user has the expanded ability to sort the list by clicking on any data field. A single click on a manufacturer’s VMA Number connects the user to a PDF of that product’s Certificate of Compliance ready to view, print or download.
The VMA scope is limited to components that require Special Seismic Certification in accordance with IBC® chapters 16 & 17, ASCE7-10 section 13.2.2 and ICC-ES AC156 or components that require Special Seismic Certification. All VMAs are posted on the homepage of http://www.ibcapproval.com and the landing page of the App.
The VMC Group’s engineering services division is a Seismic Qualification Program for equipment manufacturers. Products that successfully complete this preapproval process will receive a VMA Number and a Certificate of Compliance indicating that after a Design Earthquake, the Designated Seismic System shall maintain structural integrity and functionality.
