New Jersey "Magnet Kids" Love Their Teacher
Ridgewood, New Jersey (PRWEB) July 17, 2014 -- Mrs. Lane teaches at the highly rated Nishuane Elementary School, a magnet school for grades PK-2 in Montclair. Known for aesthetics, art and languages, Nishaune is considered a model for educational excellence in an integrated community.
Montclair's Magnet System was developed to ensure racial balance in its schools and to provide what is called "parental choice." Parents and students can choose which magnet theme they are most interested in, and apply for enrollment in one of the many Monclair schools that specialize in that certain theme. These focus areas include science and technology, university studies, environmental studies, and the arts. Mrs. Lane calls Nishuane a "vibrant and welcoming community with an emphasis on academic leadership, love of learning, and an appreciation of the arts," and credits her Principal, Jill McLaughlin and Assistant Principal, Evan Kozak with "preparing Nishuane students to navigate a diverse and global community."
Mr. and Mrs. Lane both attended the Williard School in Ridgewood, NJ and Ridgewood High School. Mrs. Lane graduated from the University of San Diego and Seton Hall with a Masters Degree in Education while Mr. Lane graduated from Miami of Ohio University. Mr. Lane is currently an executive with Jones, Lang, Lasalle, a global commercial real estate company.
