New Kauffman Sketchbook Expresses Urgent Need to Provide Students the Opportunities They Deserve
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (PRWEB) December 01, 2015 -- Every moment counts for students who have fallen behind on their path to meaningful, productive and happy futures.
That’s the message Aaron North, Kauffman Foundation vice president of Education, brings in the latest installment of the Kauffman Sketchbook video series released today by the Kauffman Foundation.
“Every day that a student is in a bad school is a deficit for that student,” North says in the two-and-a-half-minute animated video. “It’s a deficit against their life as an adult and it’s a deficit against the children that they’ll eventually raise because then they’re less likely to have the opportunities that they want to provide for their children.”
In “A Sense of Urgency,” North recommends moving beyond the ideologies and personal philosophies that can distract efforts to stay focused on advancing academic achievement for every student.
“Students deserve great teachers, and we want to provide students with great teachers. We’re preparing them for a life of choice, opportunity and happiness. That’s the message. It’s about the students,” North says.
