New Mexico Partnership Promotes Positive Business Climate During Recent Business Attraction Missions
Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) February 29, 2016 -- The New Mexico Partnership, New Mexico’s marketing organization, recently conducted two business recruitment missions in the U.S. to help identify companies interested in relocating or expanding their operations to the state. The first mission took place in the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia area, where the team touted New Mexico’s target sectors including aerospace and defense. The state’s economic development leaders also traveled to Atlanta last month to attend the 2016 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), which is hailed as the largest annual trade show for the poultry, meat, and feed industries.
“One of the NM Partnership’s business development strategies is to spread the word about New Mexico’s attractive business climate and tax incentives to corporate relocation executives across the nation and internationally,” said Eric CdeBaca, Interim Chief Executive Officer. “Both sales missions were successful especially now that we’re on the radar of companies that weren’t previously aware of New Mexico’s competitive advantages.”
During the mission to the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia area, the New Mexico Partnership was joined by Patrick Sullivan of the Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation (LACDC) for face-to-face meetings with corporate executives and site selection consultants. The team also conducted interviews with the media.
Additionally, a delegation of city and state economic development leaders attended IPPE to promote New Mexico’s food processing and agribusiness industries. The team touted New Mexico’s key assets in the agriculture sector including the fact that New Mexico is currently home to about 23,000 farms, there are 15 processing plants in the state that produce a wide range of products, and also shared information about the state’s workforce and tax incentives.
"New Mexico has greatly improved its tax structure and increased incentive funding in recent years," says CdeBaca. "The Tax Foundation recognized the successful bipartisan approach between Governor Susana Martinez and the state legislature for the improved business climate with their prestigious award for Outstanding Achievement in State Tax Reform."
The New Mexico Partnership will conduct additional business attraction and recruitment missions aimed at raising awareness about the benefits for companies interested in locating to New Mexico and creating new job opportunities. A list of upcoming events are provided on the organization’s website, http://www.nmpartnership.com.
