New Mustard App Brings People Together, Easier Than Ever Before
(PRWEB) September 21, 2016 -- A new social-media app entitled Mustard aims to revolutionize the way people go out together. Unlike current apps on the market that are more geared towards individuals, Mustard aims to make the process of going a more organized affair. Inspired by other applications on the market, Mustard has reinvented the marketplace to simplify your special events or weekly rituals.
Rather than changing the way people go out together, Mustard instead aims to make the process easier. By creating “seeds” (the name Mustard designates for events created for groups of friends), users can agree to meet-up and go to a place in a given area. When a user creates a seed, they can use their own contact list or Facebook to invite others. Once another user joins, they may specify when they would like Mustard to start tracking their location. Once the desired time arrives, Mustard will automatically begin sending location updates to the rest of the group.
Once an event is created, Mustard will display a map that features the locations of your friends or contacts that have joined the seed via the Mustard app. Aside from visual geotags of where they’re located; the app also calculates their distance to the event. The application also includes a chat feature, which allows users to communicate to everyone included in the seed, all at once. So instead of turning on an app to track your location, then creating a chat group for everyone involved, and finally sending invites for both to everyone, user’s can simply send a Mustard invite.
Through use of your Contact List and Facebook, Mustard users can add as many contacts as they desire when creating an event. When users receive texts or Facebook messages with your invite, they can join in a few taps. It drastically improves how easily users can meet-up and do so in a timely manner.
Mustard cares about your privacy, as well. In fact, Mustard stores almost none of your personal information. Only your name, profile photo, and last location update are saved. Similarly, If you choose to register through Facebook, only your name and photo are saved from your Facebook profile. Mustard uses the native Contact List and Facebook’s app to send invites, so even when you are inviting others, the app doesn’t get any information until they join the app.
Mustard is the brainchild of Eric Schmitt and Melanio Pech. Eric Schmitt has recently headed the mobile development departments for Denver-based digital design firm Crank 211 and Rekindle in Boston.
