ASHLAND, Ore. (PRWEB) June 16, 2015 -- After discovering her husband’s affair, a 1970s housewife embarks on the road trip of a lifetime to find herself in author Gloria Boyd’s new novel, “Runaway Mama” (published by AuthorHouse).
When housewife Kate Adams finds out that her husband, world-travelling journalist Clifford, had an affair with a woman half his age, she can’t fight the urge to run. After all those times she begged to go along with Clifford on his adventures around the world, Kate is finally taking her own adventure.
After packing up the car, Kate sets out on a road trip across the U.S., leaving her four college-age kids and wayward husband behind as she pursues her destiny. Along the way, Kate rediscovers her passions and finds the part of her that still wishes to live a life extraordinary.
Boyd weaves in aspects from her real life into the narrative and expounds upon the roles of women and wives in the 1970s. She hopes her book will show women of all ages that there is more to life than keeping a home and raising children.
