New novel by Linda Lee Kane updates Russian folklore
FRESNO, Calif. (PRWEB) February 10, 2015 -- Author Linda Lee Kane brings a classic Russian fable – the story of Baba Yaga the witch – to life in her new children’s novel, “Icelandia: Baba Yaga’s Revenge” (published by Abbott Press).
In a forest beyond the Flaming River lives the terrible witch Baba Yaga. The hideous old crone is said to stand on chicken legs and fly around the skies looking for her next victim. Whether they be children, young maidens or strong men, no one is truly safe once Baba Yaga sets her eye on them.
In “Icelandia,” the legend of Baba Yaga gets a fresh spin as three teenagers battle the evil witch to save Icelandia, a land where individuality is celebrated. Gifted with new magical powers, the three teens must outsmart Baba Yaga and save the creatures of the land, who have been frozen into statues.
Packed with action and adventure, “Icelandia” shares a positive message with readers about never giving up and embracing one’s individuality. Through her book, Kane hopes to remind readers that one person truly can make a big difference.
