New Orleans Jewelry Startup Revival NOLA Looks to be a Catalyst of Care
(PRWEB) September 23, 2016 -- Entrepreneur Jacob Pazos took matters into his own hands when it came to his hometown of New Orleans. “I was tired of seeing murders and violent crimes on the news constantly. It’s sad that these news reports have become normalized in our minds as locals,” says Jacob Pazos, owner of Revival NOLA. Jacob Pazos has a huge heart for the city of New Orleans because it is where he was born and raised. After coming back from his Hurricane Katrina evacuation, he was deeply affected by the devastation he saw his city in. “It seemed surreal. I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. My heart broke when I saw New Orleans and the destruction. That day I vowed that I was going to help improve the city,” says Jacob.
Jacob Pazos learned to make jewelry on CAD (computer aided design) software at just 13 years old while working at his dad’s place of employment, a local diamond wholesaler. Jacob’s skill grew so rapidly that he was doing hundreds of custom jewelry pieces for clients throughout his high school career. When he wasn’t working on client’s jobs, Jacob would go into the office after hours and create New Orleans themed jewelry for fun. Pazos says, “I would look at symbols around the city that meant a lot to me and try to capture them as realistically as possible into jewelry.” As years passed, Jacob’s desire to help the city only grew more and more. He spent summers volunteering to help different organizations around New Orleans, but always felt like he wanted to do more. Jacob says, “I wanted to start some sort of business that gave back to the city, but I had no business training or schooling. It was a scary thought and I felt a bit naïve. All I had was a dream to help New Orleans and some silver pendants.” One night he was sharing his passion for New Orleans with a friend when she looked over at him and said words that would change his life, “‘I know you don’t have any business experience, but New Orleans needs a business leader who loves the city as much as you do. Someone who’s going to stand up for what’s right and fight for this city. So for that reason alone, you need to just go for it’,” Pazos recalls. That night Jacob went home that night and decided to develop a company that would give back to New Orleans: Revival NOLA.
Revival NOLA sells limited edition fine silver jewelry that is uniquely hand engraved with the piece’s limited edition number on the back. Each design takes over 30 hours to create and is based off of a New Orleans symbol that Jacob Pazos handpicks. All pieces are limited-edition, original designs that contain only 500 of each piece, never to be created again. Each quarter Revival NOLA releases 5 new designs. This quarter, the pieces are a Jester’s Hat, a Gallery Home, a Cathedral, a Bourbon Street Sign, and a Shotgun Double.
