New Picture Book Tells the Touching Tale of “Phoebe Bee”

Author/illustrator Arlene Rita Borromeo, has addressed this problem through the less often used, biblical approach of overcoming evil with good.
The enchantingly illustrated tale of Phoebe Bee takes place along the winding path of the gray house garden, where she spends her lazy summer days delighting in the many different kinds of flowers surrounding her, much to the dismay of other bees who reside there.

About the Author
Arlene Rita Borromeo spent her early years in Rhode Island, attending Saturday art classes at the Rhode IslandSchool of Design. By the time she had completed her BFA in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art, she was already married and expecting her first child. At age 2, her son commented on her artwork with, “Mommy, why does your artwork always turn out better than mine?” Not wanting to hinder her son’s creativity, she packed away her art supplies in favor of cooking, baking and home decor. Her son was happy and so was she, as interior design contracts started pouring in.
As her children grew, so did her horizons, to include teaching residential design on the college level, modeling and coordinating a segment on artistically gifted children for local CBS and NBC affiliate stations. She worked on that project for 7 years. During that time she completed a graduate degree in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College, and started writing and illustrating, again. She now has 12 new book projects in various stages of completion.
