New Poetry and Short Writing Collections Conveys Inspirational Christian Messages

She reflects on her shortcomings and mistakes in life and shares how God strengthened her to overcome. She is also candid about some of her present struggles as well and her hopes in God for complete healing. Carter states that in doing this she is in accordance with James 5:16, which reads, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
Carter creates a redemptive duality with her work, for as readers see and understand her struggles, a process the author likens to praying for her healing, likewise by baring her scars and showing her audience – particularly those undergoing their own hardships – that they are not alone, Carter also prays for them to be healed as well.

About the Author
For the first 13 years of Dorothy Elowise Carter-Tate’s adult life, she was a stay-at-home mother and wife. When that season was over, she went back to school and became a registered nurse. The majority of her nursing career has been in psych and, presently, geriatrics. She still practices nursing; however, she has not practiced full-time for over 10 years. She serves in the church as teacher and licensed evangelist. She was the founder and director of two children’s churches. She is also a gospel singer, songwriter and playwright and has produced and directed a number of productions. From the years 2007 to 2010, she traveled abroad to Spain, Italy, and Germany with a gospel group from New Orleans, singing traditional gospel music. She also worked as a gospel DJ and talk show host at a local radio station in her hometown. Her hobbies are gardening, swimming, and playing Scrabble. Presently, she is working on a psychology degree and plans to counsel abused women and children.
