New Poetry Collection, ‘Legacy in Words,’ Evokes Powerful, Relatable Emotions
Shelby, NC (PRWEB) May 28, 2014 -- Jamarica S. Jones, whose poems have been published in “Treasured Poems of America,” shares her legacy with readers through poetry in her new collection, “Legacy in Words” (published by Trafford Publishing).
“Legacy in Words” has been selected for inclusion in the Gold Seal program, which recognizes excellence in writing and overall potential.
Jones’ poetry seeks to capture snapshots of everyday life and specific experiences throughout her lifetime. Some poems such as “Families” and “New Year’s Resolutions” have a comical tone while others such as “Morning Chill” and “The Big 3-0” reflect on common situations, the horrible feeling of being late to work and turning 30 respectively, which many readers may find relatable.
Praise for “Legacy in Words”:
“Perhaps the most intriguing poem of all, however, is ‘I Wait for the Day,’ a poem constructed in the spirit of Martin Luther King's ‘I Have a Dream Speech’ that envisions the world as a better place. Many relevant and rhythmically aesthetic poems fill the pages of this compilation, making ‘Legacy in Words’ is a must read in total.”
