New Predictive Analytics Service Launched for Smaller Businesses

GunderFish announced that the new division will be headed up by Dr. Louise F. Gunderson who joins the company starting in February. Dr. Gunderson did her doctoral thesis on predicting human choice preferences at the Systems Engineering Department of the University of Virginia (UVA). UVA was recently rated as one of the top 50 most influential universities in the world. Dr. Gunderson previously was the Chief Technology Officer at Gamma 2 Robotics, a Denver based security robotics company, which she co-founded in 2003. She was responsible for guiding the development of the cutting edge artificial intelligence in their robots. “It might seem unrelated, but robots that need to work along side people need to be able to predict what their human team mates are going to do,” Dr. Gunderson pointed out, “otherwise they can't be part of an effective team.”
Before working with Gamma Two, Dr. Gunderson provided predictive models of stock market changes to hedge funds, and worked on predicting crime patterns for several cities. “It all comes down to being able to predict what decision a person is likely to make. For smaller businesses the ability to know when a customer will have a need, and what that need will be is a powerful growth tool,” Dr. Gunderson said, “This new Predictive Analytics division will provide services like these to start ups that need traction as well as established businesses that need to grow their profits.” These are the same kind of tools that companies like Amazon use to suggest items that a customer might also be interested in, but they are refined and targeted to a higher degree. “Using advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) allows us to deliver a solid business value to our customers and improve their bottom line.” Dr. Gunderson concluded.
