New Review for Snypex Knight ED Binoculars from Erik Douds Highlights Durability and Ease of Use
(PRWEB) August 03, 2015 -- “This product is crucial in any equipment list for any wildlife manager or environmental agency,” said the reviewer, Erik Douds, an international resource consultant working in the Horn of Africa.
The Snypex ED 10x42 binocular was reviewed and tested by Erik Douds, an international resource consultant who worked with the Horn of Africa, Resource Environmental Centre and Network in rural Gambella, Ethiopia. An important role of this work is to track animals, study their habit preferences and use aerial surveys to estimate population counts for the region, and identify key species while out on field missions. In his experience, these binoculars work great on remote field missions, with extreme hot and arid conditions, for spotting wildlife species. Clear identification and ease of use is essential for anyone in natural resource management. Snypex binoculars, especially with the waterproof and fog proof features, become an essential item on a field team’s equipment list. Douds did not underestimate the extreme conditions encountered in Ethiopia. The Snypex ED was put to the test on every level. This instrument will allow environmental scientists the ability to do the research required to protect water and animals, as well as explore alternative power sources, create environmental LEED buildings, and other developments that are the only path to a healthy future for all.
“I tested the binoculars’ durability during a seven day field mission on a river in a remote region of Ethiopia. The conditions were extreme, with arid heat (up to 105º F during the day) that could rapidly shift into a thunderstorm. We had no contact with headquarters, so our equipment has to be durable and rugged. The optical clarity made it easy to identify our key species, where popular counts are an important component of our mission. The binoculars got wet by the boat’s mist and in storms, and I noticed no fogging when they dried out,” Douds explained.
Douds found the Snypex binoculars durable enough even for remote field missions. Along with extreme weather conditions, he tested the binoculars in intense altitudes, from sea level to 15,000 ft. At the peak of mountains, Douds could see across the entire plateau, especially with their low light capability help assisting in orientation and navigation.
With small teams heading out into the field, it is important for each member to know how to use all the equipment. The Snypex binoculars provide optical clarity, while also have an ease of use that makes the skill to use them transferable to any member. Douds taught his local Ethiopian colleagues how to use this superior product to identify species.
“From a field operations and natural resource manager’s point of view, the Snypex Ed 10x42 became an essential item of our field team’s equipment list because of their clarity, low light capability and the peace of mind that water, dust, or any other element would not impact their function. Any NGO working with wildlife should put these binoculars on their next budget,” Douds concluded.
Erik Douds plans on using these binoculars as he travels around the world conducting research on natural resources. He will test them across Europe, Asia, and North America.
Douds is a natural resource consultant and has collaborative research with a NASA oceanographer. He has expertise with GIS and environmental policy recommendations. While at the start of his career, he aims to continue his work with high-caliber international organizations.
Synpex is grateful that Mr. Douds was able to use the Snypex ED10x42 binoculars to advance environmental work in Ethiopia and the world. The company would like to express their gratitude for the contribution he has made to the advancement of this crucial work.
