New Social Site Takes “Famous Phrase” & Runs With It
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) September 19, 2013 -- American pop culture has evolved over the years, just like everything else, but some things haven't changed. One of those things presents itself in the form of the popular phrase, “No sh-t”. Used as an exclamation or in the form of a question, “No sh-t” has been a common saying in pop culture for decades. Now, “No sh-t” is transforming from popular vernacular and the big screen and diving headfirst into the World Wide Web through the form of a new social site, nosh-t.com.
The site, which has launched around users sharing funny photos, links, videos and stories, has come out of the gate swinging. While it may seem similar to other social sites, nosh-t.com is using the popularity of the phrase and the strength of the brand along with the ability to have a voice and not be judged to take its site to the next level.
“Our goal is to create a site where users can share images and videos, voice their opinion and like the items they find funny without fear of judgment by family and 'friends' that is so prevalent on other sites, ” Founder of nosh-t.com Nick Jones said. “We're doing that in conjunction with a killer brand.”
Nosh-t.com encourages everyone to come and browse with the browsing experience improving when you become a member. “While everyone is able to view content, we try to do a little more for registered members,” Jones added. “This allows us to cater what users are seeing based on what they are telling us they like. If they frequently click on the funny pet images, more of those are going to show up on the homepage. It doesn't mean that's all they'll see; however, we want to direct the content users are interested in seeing to them.”
This a public site that allows and encourages anonymity by giving users the ability to create a unique user name upon registering; therefore, the content that a user 'likes' isn't readily available to other users. For example, if a user thinks cute kittens posing in silly ways are funny, but doesn't want others to know, they can like all the funny animal pictures they want without anyone knowing it (this works with the hot chick photos and girlfriends, too).
“The problem with other sites is that users are afraid to 'like' a post because their grandma might see it,” Jones said. “Users should feel comfortable laughing at or 'liking' funny content because life is stressful enough without worrying about things like that. We actually think a little anonymity will be one of the features that our users love most, especially around political season. Our members will be able to share what they really think without any fear of repercussions or a massive 'un-friending' spree.”
Nosh-t.com touts a retail site as part of their overall experience. “One of our most unique features compared to other sites is the strength of our brand. We have more than 60 characters available right now,” he said. “We're already experiencing a demand for our product, just through our presence on other sites and from the t-shirts we've given away to friends. Our products allow fans to express themselves based on the character they choose and it is a unique way for us to continue to expand our brand. Our fans already love it.”
Nosh-t.com is definitely a new start-up to check out and truly has something for everyone. They even offer a “print friendly” URL.
