New Song Church (Carrollton, TX) Designs New Playground with APCPLAY®

Creating a private playground enables the church community to develop their own outdoor curriculum, daycare facilities, and other activities that further enrich the recreational and educational experience of their members. New Song Church serves the Korean community in Carrollton, Texas and the surrounding areas. The church provides services and community activities, including an annual Korean Festival for its members and local residents. The successful purchase and installation of a large playground has opened up outdoor recreation for families at New Song Baptist Church. The project included the installation of a variety of commercial playground equipment in order to build a park that would offer inclusive play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities.
The congregation chose the ‘Over the Top’ play structure as their primary attraction. It is a very large playground that can entertain up to 40 children aged 5-12 years with meaningful physical fitness and cognitive learning activities. The play structure includes two exciting Chute Slides and a Double Wall Slide. A variety of climbers provide healthy play opportunities and fun, including a challenging Coil Climber and Rock Wall Climber. But the Bubble Wall Climber is a perennial favorite for kids, offering a very challenging and visually engaging, exhilarating climb to the top!
New Song Baptist Church augmented the large play structure with two other unique independent play activities. The “Steppy” offers dual play events that help children enhance their balance and visual/motor acuity skills. Its Syclone Spinner gives children the opportunity to spin in a circular motion, with the safety of rails for added balance and protection.
The church also chose the ‘Mole Hill Climber,” a contemporary designed plastic climber that is visually engaging, encouraging children to clamor and explore. Children can climb over, around, under or through the fun dome shaped climber. It's large size provides a challenge to kids and improves their confidence levels while they climb. The negative space beneath its dome shape also creates a unique hideout for children to explore their imaginations.
For family comfort and playground supervision, New Song Baptist Church added a Double Rectangular Hip Shade to create some relief from the hot Texas sun. Two 6 foot Modern Classic Benches with in-ground mounts were added to provide comfortable seating, and a matching 32 gallon Classic Trash Receptacle was also installed to help keep their park area clean.
We know that the parents, volunteers, and administration at New Song Baptist Church were thrilled to see their new playground completed, just in time for spring.
