New Technology Adoption Leads to Change in Entertainment Video QC Process
Portland Oregon - June 11, 2015 (PRWEB) June 12, 2015 -- For independent filmmakers and midsize studios the QC process has changed very little over the past fifty years. Up to this point the process has been to toss finished products over the wall to broadcasters and wait to see if it fails. When it did, editors would spend hours, sometimes days, researching the issues and seeking allusive fixes.
Due to the increase in testing technologies now available to broadcasters this model is quickly changing and there is less tolerance of this practice as submission standards continue to rise in response to improved screens.
To address this challenge, QC MyFilm developed a unique proprietary process, utilizing Tektronix’s technology, which tests more than 27 different parameters that could prevent a product from being aired. “One of the biggest challenges for independent filmmakers and midsize studios”, said QC MyFilm COO Christopher Stephens “is that it could be a huge financial and time investment to align with broadcaster’s testing platforms. What we’ve built is turnkey and brings the cost down while substantially improving the testing levels and shortening the delivery time. There’s no longer a reason why someone’s product gets an embarrassing QC failed report.”
According to one of QC MyFilm customers, Doug Allen, CEO for Fusion TV Inc., the new process has multiple benefits. “Something we’ve noticed for the international market is that a tremendous number of clients (broadcasters) are starting to use hardware and software products to QC the product before acceptance”, says Allen. “A lot of little nuances are being caught and broadcasters are kicking back the programs for small items. Catching these problems before sending allows us to go right through the QC process. It saves us time and money. Plus we can get paid faster.”
Three different price options are available ranging from $120 to $290 depending on the level of service. The online process is turnkey and the turnaround time can be less than 72 hours. QC MyFilm supports all video types and sizes. All functions of the project are managed through the QC MyFilm’s offices in Portland Oregon.
