New Tibet visa rules and a temporary closure impacting fall 2015 Tibet tours
Lhasa, Tibet (PRWEB) August 25, 2015 -- With the fall 2015 travel season right around the corner, there is once again buzz surrounding how to get a Tibet visa. Those just beginning to plan their tours can sometimes find the rules, which permits are needed, and for which destinations these rules apply to be confusing. The truth is that it’s a fairly easy experience, provided travelers furnish the correct documents on time. Tibet Ctrip Travel Service-TCTS (http://www.tibetctrip.com) shares the details.
- Rumors circulating the Internet are true, according to the Tibet Tourism Bureau Tibet will be closed to foreign travelers during the first half of September. An important thing to remember when planning a tour is that Tibet travel permit rules can change at any time with little advanced notice.
- Be sure to submit copies of passports and Chinese visas at least 10 days before arrival. Some individuals need special permission to enter Tibet so TCTS will also need to ask for travelers’ occupation. It’s crucial that information on passports match visa pages exactly. Those arriving from Nepal do not need a regular Chinese visa; TCTS will help them obtain a Tibet group visa before leaving Nepal.
- Unlike 2013 and 2014 there is now no restriction on group size or nationality, except for Indian passport holders in the Kailash area. Previously groups had to be comprised of at least 5 individuals of the same nationality.
Obtaining a Tibet visa doesn’t have to be a complicated process. Just be sure to supply the required documents within the requested time frame. Additional permits may be needed for traveling outside of Lhasa; TCTS will take care of the application process. With the fall 2015 travel now is the time to start planning a trip!
