New WBB and McCormack Joint Venture
Palm Springs, California (PRWEB) January 21, 2014 -- Two diversity-focused retained search firms have formed a joint venture to provide a national recruiting capability for employers seeking people of color and LGBT candidates for key leadership positions, and they are adding a new search consultant to the team.
New York-based Wesley, Brown & Bartle, a minority-owned search practice, was established 40 years ago and has a national reputation for the placement of exceptional people of color and veterans in senior management and board level positions. California-based McCormack & Associates, established in 1993, is the first gay-owned retained search practice in the U.S. It has filled hundreds of senior executive and board level positions for HIV/AIDS and LGBT organizations, as well as a broad spectrum of not-for-profit and profit sector employers seeking diversity candidates.
Joining this new venture with more than 20 years of management experience, including executive positions in national nonprofit organizations and financial services, is Michelle Kristel.
Most recently, Michelle provided management support to enhance the corporate and events fundraising efforts of Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE), the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT older adults.
Michelle is the former executive director of In The Life Media (ITLM), a nonprofit organization producing social change media to raise awareness of issues related to gender, HIV/AIDS and LGBT rights. IN THE LIFE was broadcast nationally on PBS from 1992 through 2012.
Prior to joining ITLM, Michelle enjoyed an accomplished career in financial services. Over more than a decade, her tenure included positions in customer relations with Fidelity Investments, legal and compliance with Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. and institutional sales with Dean Witter Reynolds.
Michelle serves on the Board of Center Link, the national association of LGBT community centers. She is also a member of the steering committee of the Publishing Triangle, an association of authors, readers and publishing professionals, and a volunteer for the Food Bank of NYC.
Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Master of Arts from New York University.
