New Web Channel – www.ENABLEChannel.com Launches
Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 11, 2015 -- http://www.ENABLEChannel.com will officially launch on February 11, 2015. The new web channel is a digital media resource for diverse parents of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities consisting of programming of short documentaries and educational videos.
The goal of the web channel is to be a resource for parents and caregivers of this subculture within the disability community. The website will focus on developing media content for a specific market group – urban, ethnic and underserved populated communities where availability to resources are limited due to economic forces.
Sonya Dunn said, “I have worked in the field of media for 20 year and a parent in the disability communities for over 15 years. I wanted to give back to a community that has made me a better parent and global citizen.”
Sonya Dunn is the founder of JEMH Entertainment. Her interactive media division will spearhead this new and innovative web channel for the disability community. She is an award-winning writer, producer and director for films, cable and online programming. Dunn is also the mother of two autistic children.
Dunn states, “I saw a need that was not being met in this subculture that effects every country, ethnic group and faith – disability community. Online media resource that help parents, who can not afford the expensive treatments and support, become better advocates for their love ones with this free website”
The media library currently has 20 videos. Each week, ten new videos will be posted on the web channel. Parents, caregivers, and highly qualified service providers from diverse ethnic backgrounds will share their experience and insight on several topics in different programming formats for the web channel.
ENABLE Channel is a free membership base web channel. The following lineup of videos from diverse groups for the next four months will be:
• February – African American
• March – Women and Marriage
• April – Diversity in Autism
• May – Asian American and Pacific Islander
The ENABLE channel has partnered with the Color of Autism to promote the online channel to specific demographic groups.
