New Whitepaper Proposing Innovative Next-Gen Distribution Facilities was Presented at I.CON: The Industrial Conference 2018 hosted by NAIOP
NEW YORK (PRWEB) June 12, 2018 -- Heitman Architects and Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) presented the fourth white paper in the DesignFlex2030 initiative, titled “Roadmap for Change: The Flexible Distribution Facilities of the Future,” during the I.CON’ 18: The Industrial Conference hosted by NAIOP. This event, one of the commercial real estate industry’s premier conferences, took place on June 6-8, 2018, in Jersey City, New Jersey. The key findings of the research study, commissioned by the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC) and SIOR, was be presented on Thursday, June 7.

The new DesignFlex2030 whitepaper explores the next generation of industrial facilities and offers a future-proof real estate strategy that enables rapid change out and re-configuration. It outlines creative and practical suggestions on how to build a more productive and flexible network of distribution facilities, which can be repurposed quickly and cost-effectively for rapid scale-up and scale-down, technological change, scientific breakthroughs, and process innovation.
“Roadmap for Change: The Flexible Distribution Facilities of the Future” is the fourth DesignFlex2030 paper in the series and an outgrowth of the original white paper, “Designing Flexibility into the Industrial Workplace.” It explores new design approaches that could lead to more flexible, adaptable, and sustainable industrial facilities in the future. Other papers in this series include “Recipe for Change: The Flexible Food Processing Plant of the Future,” published in September 2015, and “Rx for Change: The Flexible Biopharmaceutical Facility of the Future,” published in March 2017.
