He graduated from Georgia Southern College with a B.S. in Education. He received a Masters in Administration, taught math, and was a principal in elementary schools for thirty-two years. Winkie and Harold met in college and married in Georgia. They have two adult children. They love to travel and have been to all fifty states (except Alaska) and visited many countries including England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, and of course, Israel.
