San Diego, CA (PRWEB) December 03, 2014 -- An anticipated 300 curious Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, Escondido, Fallbrook, Temecula, and Riverside County residents will unite at The Retreat, an inaugural City of Hope event brought to you by Be Well and hosted by Pala Casino Spa Resort this January 3 to 4, 2015. According to Yoga Journal, over 20.4 million Americans practice yoga and close to 45% of the general population has stated they would like to try yoga in the near future. The Retreat offers the perfect opportunity to try yoga, recharge, refresh, reconnect, and show support of City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading centers for cancer treatment and research.
The Retreat will consist of empowering workshops, a Yoga Marketplace featuring over 20 healthy vendors, musical entertainment, outdoor and indoor yoga classes, a labyrinth mediation and nature walk, and a master yoga class led by 3 local celebrated and acclaimed yoga instructors: Ashley Fiala, Lisette Hart, and Graham Hadidian.
“Yoga is an integral part of City of Hope’s overriding mission to heal the whole person, including nurturing the emotional, spiritual, social, and physical well-being,” said Robyn Hima, Director of Philanthropy for City of Hope’s San Diego regional office. Recent mind body medicine studies have shown yoga to reduce stress and blood pressure, while improving flexibility, muscle stamina, lung capacity, and a sense of well-being. “The Retreat will bring more awareness to the benefits of yoga for patients with life-threatening illnesses and help raise money directly benefiting the research, treatment and care we provide at the hospital.”
Media is invited to film Sunday, January 4, 2015 outdoor yoga class at 9:00 a.m. Contact anixon(at)coh(dot)org.
