New York Business Expo & Conference Provides Insight and Education to Thousands of Business Owners
New York, New York (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- Nearly 10,000 business owners attended the Ninth Annual New York Business Expo & Conference (NYXPO) recently held at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Manhattan. Presented by Time Warner Cable Business Class, the NYXPO served as the ideal platform for companies to announce new products and services. With an extensive schedule of more than 30 educational sessions and panel discussions, attendees spent their day in seminars and meetings with service providers acquiring the information and resources they need to grow their small businesses. In addition to the variety of educational options, business owners had the opportunity to mingle with like-minded professionals among the more than 180 exhibitors.
“The NYXPO provides attendees with every opportunity to meet the people they need to know and learn what they need to grow their company without adding to their expenses,” said Marc Scherer, President of Event Management.
Many sponsors and exhibitors offered demos and information about new initiatives including the event’s title sponsor, Time Warner Cable Business Class who utilized the event to announce two new Internet speed tiers to better serve businesses and organizations of all sizes. “As partners to New York City’s business community, we are committed to making investments to provide fast, reliable Internet services at a wide array of speed choices,” said Greg King, Senior Vice President and Chief Product and Strategy Officer for TWCBC.
CBS Local Digital Direct, another sponsor, showed off their new self-service advertising platform and, at Microsoft’s Get2Modern booth, attendees learned of the various operating systems available when XP support ends in 2014.
New this year, NYXPO housed its first “conference within a conference” with the Social Mobile Analytics & Content Summit— also known as the #SMAC SUMMIT. #SMAC features Teachers NOT Speakers™, a digital communications learning environment for small business owners, media enthusiasts and entrepreneurs offered a mix of learning sessions that emphasized facts, data, tactics and method.
Networking did not stop when the conference ended. Attendees had the opportunity to register for a unique event immediately following the conference. The MatchUp networking event was offered through a unique partnership of New York City’s five borough chambers of commerce: Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Queens Chamber of Commerce, Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, and Bronx Chamber of Commerce. The first opportunity of its kind to be held at NYXPO, MatchUp offered profile-based networking, facilitating introductions between professionals with relevant business needs and services.
The 2013 New York Business Expo & Conference, presented by Time Warner Cable Business Class, was supported by the Better Business Bureau, Constant Contact, Flushing Bank, Marketecture, Microsoft, NVO, Empire State Development, the 5 Borough Chambers of Commerce, many more business development organizations, and marketing partner Co-Communications, Inc.
