New York Film Academy Opens Brand New Campus in Battery Park
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- The New York Film Academy has officially opened the doors to its brand new campus, located at 17 Battery Place. The modern facility occupies 72,000 square feet on two full floors and offers breathtaking views of Battery Park and The Statue of Liberty. Each classroom was uniquely designed from scratch to meet the specific needs of the hands-on programs, including state-of-the-art production studios and sound stages.
Summer Camp programs for kids and Adult Musical Theatre programs have already begun at the new location. “There is something magical about the access to the view of the Hudson and to the lively Battery Park scene,” says Musical Theatre Chair, Mark Olsen. “It is at once soothing and energizing, speaking volumes about our need to tell stories, sing songs, dance and design our innermost desires and dreams.”
Founded in 1992 by Jerry Sherlock, a former film, television and theatre producer, New York Film Academy was originally located at the Tribeca Film Center. In 1994, NYFA moved to Union Square, which still remains the home of its New York City based filmmaking courses.
Starting in the Fall, Acting, Musical Theatre, Screenwriting, Producing, Photography, Journalism, and 3D Animation classes will all take place at the new Battery Park location. NYFA cannot be more thrilled to provide this wonderful new environment to its students, and is looking forward to meeting a whole new crop of talent.
