New York Practice Offers New FDA Approved Non-Surgical Treatment for Double Chins

Kybella is a non-surgical method to dissolve fat cells and is the first of its kind to be approved for the use of reducing the look of a double chin. Kybella works by dissolving fat cells and allows plastic surgeons and dermatologists to reshape the chin area without surgery. During the two clinical trials, more than 1,000 patients were treated, with 68.2% seeing successful reduction of the look of their problem area. M.R.I. scans of treated patients also showed that under-chin volume had decreased. Kybella is a cytolytic drug, which when injected into the submental fat area under the chin, dissolves and destroys the fat cells. The key ingredient in Kybella is identical to deoxycholic acid, an acid naturally produced in the body.
