New York Stylist Takes Career Full Circle by Returning to D.C. Market at Award Winning Salon
Rockville, Md. (PRWEB) March 25, 2015 -- Progressions Salon Spa Store welcomes Wendy Bond, senior stylist, to its prestigious team. On the forefront of professionalism, Bond will bring her color and hair cutting expertise to the renowned salon starting April 28. Her extensive knowledge of the industry will contribute to the establishment’s educational programs, events and overall culture.
Bond has immersed herself in the business of beauty for over 20 years. She began making her mark as a platform artist where she became an Aveda certified color educator. Bond played an instrumental role introducing Aveda color to salons in the East Coast market.
"Wendy is from the Washington area; this is her home. In fact, we opened the salon together in 1984," said Cindy Feldman, owner of Progressions. "It feels good to have her back on the team," she continued.
Bond’s flourishing career took her to Soho, New York where she was an owner of Oscar Bond Salon for ten years. The salon was voted one of New York City’s "Top Ten Salons," by Salon News. The establishment has been featured on a number of popular TV series and publications such as, "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," "The View," "Teen Vogue" and "Style Magazine."
Embracing her entrepreneurial spirit, Bond fostered the opening of another business: Bond Salon in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Her efforts there focused on providing advanced education for cosmetology graduates while collaborating with industry icons to offer additional master classes. In her free time, she also organized charity events for the local women’s shelter.
While running her salon in New Jersey, Bond took on the role of L’ANZA creative director. Bond was instrumental in the promotion of "L’ANZA Healing Haircare," through the creation of support components such as testing, formulation and directions for swatch book layouts.
She recruited and developed a training system that took participants through a variety of phases. Bond also played an instrumental role in the creation of certification for the educators, from introduction all the way to coaching extensive L’ANZA product knowledge.
"Since 1984, my career has taught me more than I could have ever imagined. One of the main things I’ve learned is that any colorist can listen to a client’s request; only a true artist can find the balance between current trends and personal style," she said.
"I love that my journey has taken me full circle. I’m looking forward to applying my years of experience at Progressions working with an owner I adore," she continued.
