New York Times Bestselling Author Craig Johnson Debuts Latest “Walt Longmire” Novel at Buffalo Bill Center of the West May 8
Cody, WY (PRWEB) April 29, 2014 -- At 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, Craig Johnson visits Cody, Wyoming, to present a public program in the Buffalo Bill Center of the West's Coe Auditorium, followed by a book signing at 3 p.m. at the Center's Museum Store. On sale are copies of this, the eleventh book in the series, as well the first, "The Cold Dish," and tenth, "Spirit of Steamboat." Johnson’s presentation is included in regular admission to the Center of the West—free for Center members. With limited seating available in the auditorium, attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
An engaging speaker as well as writer, Johnson’s talk shares insights into his writing; his inspirations for character, place, and story; and thoughts on the television series inspired by his books. The "Los Angeles Times" has said of the Wyoming author, “Like the greatest crime novelists, Johnson is a student of human nature.” In the fictional world of the Wyoming county sheriff’s department Johnson has created, that perception shines through in the actions and dialogue of the main characters and the criminals that populate it.
Published by Viking Penguin, "Any Other Name" finds the cast of characters investigating a mystery in a neighboring county perhaps best left alone. The plot takes readers into another intriguing story of Walt’s work in small-town law enforcement investigating large cases, and the complexities of his personal relationships that unfold along the way.
Johnson’s Walt Longmire Mysteries continue to receive critical acclaim and literary awards, and the previous three installments have all landed on the "New York Times" bestsellers list. The A&E television series based on the books, LONGMIRE, which helped spread popularity in the novels, begins its third season in June. The show is produced by the Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Horizon Television. Robert Taylor stars as the title character Sheriff Walt Longmire, Lou Diamond Phillips as long-time friend Henry Standing Bear, Katee Sackhoff and Bailey Chase as part of Walt’s team in the sheriff’s office, and Cassidy Freeman as his daughter. Johnson is a creative consultant for the series.
