The Philly.com article notes that the U.S. Labor Department found that musculoskeletal disorders account for one-third of all injuries and illnesses that cause workers to miss time at work. According to the report, nurses’ assistants have the highest musculoskeletal disorder injury rate, followed by freight workers, truck drivers, janitors and registered nurses.
Employers now don’t have Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards to prevent musculoskeletal injuries, according to Philly.com.
