New Young Adult Male Sober Living Home and Counseling Center Opens in Dallas, Texas
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) December 14, 2014 -- Michael and Heidi Smith are pleased to announce the opening of Chapter House Sober Living and Counseling Center, located north of Dallas, Texas. Chapter House will serve young adult men in early recovery from chemical dependency. The Smith’s, who have been married since 2008, have 25 years of combined experience working in the field of chemical dependency. Chapter House was created as the Smith’s saw a need in the DFW metroplex for a structured and safe sober living experience that was combined with intensive outpatient counseling services.
Chapter House is located in Richardson, Texas. The sober living home is recognized as an R3 group home in the City of Richardson through a certificate of occupancy for group homes. Chapter House Counseling Center is also located in Richardson, minutes from the sober living home.
Chapter House sets itself apart from other recovery homes in a variety of ways. The sober living home has 24-hour awake staff, has a life development curriculum focusing on failure to launch, is utilizing the Cooper Aerobics Center and Crull Fitness to promote health and wellness, uses Dave Ramsey’s financial peace curriculum for young adults, a collegiate focus designed to help men complete their educational and career goals, and all of this takes place is in a 5,700 square foot home overlooking Sherrill Park Golf Course.
“Through using a 12-step centered approach of life development combined with outpatient clinical services, we create a space for men to heal, recover and move on to the next chapter of life,” states Heidi Smith, a licensed professional counselor. “We want each individual to have a safe place to land, get help getting launched, and ultimately move on and live their lives as sober men.”
Chapter House Counseling Center provides a unique partnership with the sober living home as it will provide an Intensive Outpatient Program to all residents at the home. In addition, the counseling center has a psychiatric medical director who will provide oversight and psychiatric services to all Chapter House participants. The counseling center takes insurance.
“This approach really fills the gap between in-patient and residential treatment centers for chemical dependency and discharge back into the real world,” states Michael Smith. “We really saw a need to fill in that gap and take it to a different level, and we believe we have created that with Chapter House.”
