New “Your Cookware Helper” Cookware Price Survey Finds Most Cookware Priced Under $40 per Piece
Roanoke, VA (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- Mark Jala, founder of the Your Cookware Helper website, completed a cookware price survey on September 22, 2013 and found the majority of cookware is priced under $40 per piece. The survey was based on a sample of 53 cookware sets from 12 major cookware manufacturers ranging from All-Clad to Scanpan. Using 10-piece cookware sets, or the closest to 10-piece available, and calculating the price per piece, Mr. Jala found the price per piece ranged from $7 per piece to $142.57 per piece. Pricing was obtained at Amazon.com. The survey is used to help categorize cookware product lines into standardized price points of low, medium and premium.
Mr. Jala says that the “Your Cookware Helper website tries to make the cookware buying process easy by categorizing cookware into standardized groups. The price level of a cookware product line is a key group. From this latest survey we found that a product line with a price per piece of $20 or less falls into the low price range, $21 to $50 falls into the medium price range, and any cookware with a price per piece over $50 is in the premium price range.”
The All-Clad Copper Core cookware line, All-Clad’s flagship product line, took the honors as the most expensive in the survey coming in at $142.57 per piece. The Farberware Classic stainless steel cookware line took the honors as the least expensive coming in at $7 per piece. The price distribution came in as follows:
• $0 - $10 per piece: 3 product lines
• $11 - $20 per piece: 19 product lines
• $21 - $30 per piece: 13 product lines
• $31 - $40 per piece: 4 product lines
This makes up 37 of the 53 product lines sampled.
The cookware brands included in the survey include All-Clad, Anolon, Calphalon, Circulon, Cuisinart, Emerilware, Farberware, KitchenAid, Le Creuset, Rachael Ray and Scanpan.
