New Yurts to Be Installed at William Kent Campground
Tahoe City, Calif. (PRWEB) May 05, 2015 -- Tahoe Recreation (a division of California Land Management) is announcing that four new yurts will be available to the public this summer at William Kent Campground in Tahoe City. These new units will join the existing six units at Fallen Leaf Campground near South Shore. Yurts are a roomy, tent-like facility on a wooden platform that are furnished with basic items such as a futon that folds into a queen bed and bunk beds. They will rent for $75.00 a night and be available for reservation – after May 22 – at http://www.recreation.gov.
“Yurts provide a nice alternative to the camping public,” says Bob Tatum, Tahoe Recreation’s local Operations Manager. “The yurts at Fallen Leaf have been popular ever since we made them available in 2010.”
CLM – Tahoe Recreation’s parent company – has been investing in yurts and small cabins in their operations for over 10 years. “The nature of today’s camper is different than it was in the past,” says Eric Mart, President of California Land Management. “People are looking for alternative accommodations that offer more creature comforts and easier access. Yurts offer them these amenities.”
Tahoe Recreation operates campgrounds and other recreation facilities under a Special Use Permit from the USDA Forest Service. The company has been in the Lake Tahoe community since 1985.
