Newest Social Networking Platform Chillin’ Helps Users Connect With Nearby Facebook Friends
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) February 11, 2016 -- Today, Chillin LLC announced the launch of their premier social networking mobile application. The Chillin’ app is now available to the public on iOS in the App Store and for Android users in the Google Play store. Chillin’ provides users with a new way to connect with their friends face to face. When the app is opened, the user will have the ability to see which of their Facebook friends are in the area, and who’s, “down to chill.” From there, users can start chatting to suggest ideas about what to do and where to meet up. They can also create spontaneous events or hangouts and invite their active friends to join.
Chillin’s CEO Andrew Maxfield said “The idea of Chillin’ is to put social back into social media. We want to help users branch out, and deepen relationships with their friends outside of their core friend circle.” To provide users with the fastest path to building their Chillin’ network, the company decided to utilize the user’s Facebook network. Maxfield goes on to say, “Facebook is typically a user’s largest network. We feel that we can provide our users the most value and connect them with the largest amount of friends in the moment they want to chill by using Facebook.” Currently, if a user’s Facebook friends have Chillin’ they are automatically connected on the application. All a user needs to do to maximize their Chillin’ network is to assure their Facebook friends all have the app so they can connect in their down time.
One of Chillin’s major features is the ability for users to create and view spontaneous events. This will not however compete with or replace Facebook events. “The purpose is to create spontaneous events that are occurring within an hour or two, and to get people there quickly. Because the event organizer knows who is nearby and available they will know which friends to invite, and have greater success getting people together in the moment.” Says Maxfield.
The idea of connecting in person and face to face with friends has been something that is getting a lot of attention as of late. Google recently launched a beta test for their new app “Who’s Down,” which is also built around the idea of bringing people together in person. Chillin’ and Who’s Down both entering the industry at the same time validates the need for users to have a platform that helps them connect with their friends face to face. For the last several years face to face interaction has been put on the back burner for social media platforms that connect users virtually with their friends. Platforms like Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram have gotten all the attention and do a great job at helping users stay connected virtually, but users are starting to see the need to have a platform that can help them connect with their friends on a deeper level, which can only happen in person. Chillin’ and Who’s Down are pioneering this new industry, and will pave the way for users to connect with their friends face to face.
