Newly Improved App ProxToMe Combines Facebook And Dropbox To Chat And Share Large Files In An Instant
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- ProxToMe, the first social proximity-based cloud-to-cloud file sharing app, today launches an updated version of its free app for iOS and Android. Users can send messages as well as any file or full folder stored into their Dropbox in an instant.
ProxToMe app has been updated to make sure that sharing anything on the go is as easy as sending a message. New improvements include:
• More interaction: ProxToMe offers deep integration with Facebook and makes it much easier and intuitive for all users to interact with Facebook friends, even though they may not be on the app;
• Enhanced discovery: the proximity engine has been integrated with GPS to capture the users close by - within 250 feet - as well as those that have been at that location in the last 2 hours. GPS positions the user upon launch and then goes off in order not to drain the battery;
• Higher usability: ProxToMe incorporates a platform specific layout for iOS and Android and includes flat graphic design consistent with the upcoming iOS7. All files shared with ProxToMe now come with a preview to both senders and recipients, making it more pleasant and easier to manage file sharing on the go.
“ProxToMe has a worldwide growing user base. Users text over ProxToMe and for the first time enrich their chats with content regardless its size” says Carlo Capello, ProxToMe cofounder and CEO. “Artists love to share new songs and unveil new tracks to their fans at their gigs. End users share large files with friends, colleagues, partners and customers.”
There’s a variety of cases ProxToMe can help. Think of snapping a picture with the smartphone during a party but not being able to instantly share it because don’t own the contact of people around you. Or sharing a file with the Dropbox app, but it turns out rather complex, or maybe recipients do not have a Dropbox or their contact is unknown. Or think of sending a presentation to colleagues right in the moment when there’s no laptop available. The picture at the party, the file on Dropbox, the professional documents, content of any kind and size that users can instantly share with ProxToMe when they really need it the most and without any barrier.
The app combines Facebook and Dropbox with a proprietary proximity engine resulting in a smoother-than-ever interaction with people around, whether they are known or not, and Facebook friends. Simpler than Dropbox mobile, more powerful than Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger (that only allow sharing photos and videos stored into the smartphone), much faster and scalable than sharing via Bluetooth (where the speed is limited by the Bluetooth technology and you can share with only one device at a time), more discreet than Facebook or Twitter (where you drop a content by a social platform with no real transferring to anyone). ProxToMe users can send messages as well as files of any kind and any size, even full folders, in an instant.
Capello envisions that “ProxToMe will position as the collaboration tool that disrupts the way people interact with friends nearby, an intuitive platform to seamlessly share any kind of content with one of thousands of people during an event, instantly.”
