Newly Released 2014 IVF Success Rates Help Infertility Patients Better Understand Data
Newport Beach, CA (PRWEB) April 29, 2016 -- The infertility specialists at HRC Fertility/Orange County (HRC/OC) -- Dr. Mickey S. Coffler, Dr. Jane L. Frederick, Dr. Sanaz Ghazal, and Dr. Daniel A. Potter -- are proud of the recent release of their 2014 in vitro fertilization success rates from the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART). In April, SART published the latest verified data for 375 U.S. member clinics. *Preliminary data shows HRC/OC achieved a live birth rate per patient of 83.3% for women under 35 using their own eggs in a non-frozen IVF cycle (n=126). National statistics were a 57% live birth rate per female patient with the same characteristics of being under 35 using their own eggs in a fresh IVF cycle.
Singleton Births
HRC Fertility/Orange County also was pleased with the percentage of singleton births for its patients, which is another important outcome of successful infertility treatment. With a multiple pregnancy of twins or higher, there is a greater risk for both mother and babies. At the clinic, 64.3% of the live births per patient for women under 35 using their own eggs in a non-frozen IVF cycle were singletons; nationwide, 43% of women under the age of 35 using their own eggs in a fresh IVF cycle had a singleton birth. HRC/OC physicians also reduced the number of IVF cycles per patient to achieve a pregnancy, making treatment more cost-effective for patients.
Streamlined Information
This year’s SART report includes many significant changes to help infertility patients better understand their chances of success. “The new SART report reflects the many changes in how infertility medicine is practiced as advances like genetic screening and elective single embryo transfer are more routinely utilized,” Medical Director Dr. Potter explained. “We strive to provide the latest techniques appropriate for each patient so we can maximize their chances for success.”
