Newly Released Baseball-Themed Lesson Plans Make Common Core ELA (English and Language Arts) Easy
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 25, 2016 -- Children’s book author and dedicated Little League coach Kevin Christofora helped his children with their homework every night after Little League practice. With each child, it was the same story: Common Core was hard and not very enjoyable.
Recognizing that Common Core ELA lesson plans could use a little more fun, he hired multiple teachers from around the country to help him develop baseball-themed lesson plans to teach various aspects of English and Language Arts. Christofora says, “Kids will not only learn about spelling and reading comprehension—we will be interweaving important lessons about teamwork.” He adds, “This summer, kids finally got outside, but only because an app on their phone—Pokémon Go—took them outside. While anything that gets kids outside is great, it is my hope that lesson plans that revolve around sports will encourage kids to get outside, without a device.”
By making Common Core ELA enjoyable, it makes it easier for students to learn. It also makes it easier for parents to follow along with homework when the lessons are more relatable. Christofora also hopes that the lesson plans will make teachers' lives easier by giving them lesson plans to keep on hand for whenever they have a substitute, so that they will not only be prepared to handle the class, they will also be prepared to handle the new standards of Common Core.
Christofora and his team of teachers are developing more lesson plans, with plans for math already developed and plans for history and science in the pipeline. His lesson plans are currently available at http://www.thehometownallstars.com and multiple teacher websites at http://www.teacherspayteachers.com.
