NewTek Announces 10 Finalists in Contest to Win World’s Smallest HD Mobile Production Vehicle
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 -- NewTek has announced 10 finalists in its contest to win the world’s smallest HD mobile production vehicle. The finalists, which were selected from hundreds of entries in the 48 contiguous states and District of Columbia, include two universities and eight high schools, all of which have active video production programs for students. Results will be announced December 16, 2013. The Grand Prize winner will receive NewTek’s smart car HD production vehicle, and the other finalists will each receive a TriCaster 40.
“Our original vision for the NewTek smart car was to demonstrate the true mobility and power of our TriCaster and 3Play live video production equipment – and with this contest, we will make that vision a reality for a school that otherwise might not be able to afford it on their own,” said Jim Plant, NewTek President and CEO. “We look forward to seeing how creative the 10 finalists will be as they compete for the grand prize, and to presenting the winner with an incredibly powerful live sports production package that will deliver the same caliber of action and coverage that fans experience on network television or in a professional sporting venue.”
The Contest & Finalists
In the first stage of the contest, 10 finalists were selected on the basis of a 500 word essay explaining why their school would be best to receive the car, including their plans for integrating the production vehicle into their sports production programs. Judging was based on the quality and creativity of the submissions. In the second stage, the 10 finalists will produce a video entry that creatively demonstrates why their school should take home the grand prize. A panel of judges, including sports video production professionals, will determine the Grand Prize winner.
