The Magento 2 Performance Overview white paper provides a comprehensive breakdown of the differences between Magento 1.x and Magento 2 that impact performance and scalability, discussing upgrades to the LAMP stack and changes to frontend and backend components, including the processing of static assets, cache pools, indexing performance improvements, and the new Magento 2 application modes.
