NextEnergy President and CEO Joins the External Advisory Board of the University of Michigan Energy Institute
Detroit, Mich. (PRWEB) October 26, 2013 -- NextEnergy President and CEO, Jean Redfield, has formally joined the External Advisory Board of the University of Michigan Energy Institute.
The Energy Institute works to conduct research and develop and integrate science, technology and policy solutions to current energy challenges. As a part of the External Advisory Board, Redfield will work with other energy leaders in industry, academia and government laboratories to advise the Institute and guide research that will address the energy challenges of the future.
“Jean’s experience and perspective on energy and environmental challenges will be extremely valuable to the Board,” said Energy Institute Director, Mark Barteau. “We are so pleased she has agreed to join us.”
Redfield mirrored Barteau’s comments stating, “I am very excited for the opportunity to lend my experience and knowledge to the Institute. I look forward to engaging with fellow Board members and guiding the Energy Institute to solutions for tomorrow’s energy problems.”
The University of Michigan has recently demonstrated their commitment to energy research, investing in the renovation of the 30,000 square foot, LEED-certified Phoenix Memorial Laboratory, which will serve as the Institute’s new home. The laboratory will be rededicated this fall in connection with an energy symposium and the External Advisory Board’s semi-annual meeting.
