Documents are often produced for litigation as enormous Adobe PDF files, often with dozens or hundreds of documents compiled into one master document. The new Document Splitting feature allows clients to scroll through a long PDF document and add page breaks where necessary. The document splitting feature can be turned on or off by the user. When engaged, the reviewer can simply mark “splits” between pages of a large file. Once done, they click a button, confirm their choices and the document is then divided into multiple, smaller documents. A master document remains on the system if they choose to keep it or need to revert back to the original, unbroken document for any reason.
The most viable alternative for review teams has been the use of a PDF utility or Adobe products to split and save individual pages. Until now, this functionality was not available in review software – adding time, cost, and complexity to the task of splitting documents.
