Nexus Supports Feeding America in Virtual Food Drive
Valencia, CA (PRWEB) February 10, 2014 -- Since 2005, Nexus offices around the country have come together and hosted an annual fundraiser to benefit local food banks. Now, with 19 regional offices spread across the United States, Nexus employees opened their hearts and their wallets in an effort to help end hunger in the U.S. The initial goal of raising $7,500 was met with ease, but the Nexus family didn’t stop there. By the end of the campaign, over $9,000 was donated, providing 81,450 meals for families in need.
Hunger is a very real struggle for 1 in 6 Americans. These are often hardworking adults, children and the elderly who are unable to make ends meet in today’s economy. This lack of nutrition has rampant effects on the more than 3 million households that experience food insecurity on a daily basis, and is especially important for developmental functions in children and infants.
