NG Turf Sends Team to Turfgrass Producers International (TPI) Conference in Houston, TX for Latest Trends in Turfgrass Management
Whitesburg, GA (PRWEB) February 25, 2016 -- A team of seven from NG Turf will be attending the annual educational conference of Turfgrass Producers International (TPI) from February 22nd – 25th. This year the conference is being held in Houston, TX at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
NG Turf attendees include Aaron McWhorter, Linda McWhorter, Mark McWhorter, Natalie Howard, Jett Howard, Merritt Alexander, and Helen Albrightson.
According to its mission statement, TPI is an international association dedicated to representing and advancing the turfgrass sod industry worldwide through the promotion of improved practices, the professional development of members, and the enhancement of the environment.
Conference highlights include educational seminars on effective staffing (Dr. Todd Creasy, Western Carolina University), influential voices in the sustainability movement (Ralph Egues, Jr., Cruz Fox, LLC), reducing soil erosion (Dr. Jeff Beasley, Louisiana State University); break-out sessions on modern best-practices in the turfgrass industry; “show and tell” presentations from sod farm owners and managers across the United States; and a keynote address by world-famous tornado hunter, Greg Johnson.

The conference also includes a Field Day on Wednesday, February 24th, at All Seasons Turfgrass Farm in Brookshire, Texas. The 380-acre farm is located just west of Houston. During the field day event, there will be live demonstrations of the latest equipment and sustainable turfgrass technologies, including a full-scale sod harvest. All sod harvested during the event will be donated to Habitat for Humanity in Houston.
