NHK WORLD-JAPAN, Japan’s Sole Public English-Language Channel, Launches on ATL PBS on April 1, 2018

ATL PBS joins stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Seattle, Denver, Orlando, Charlotte and Baltimore as NHK WORLD-JAPAN partners in distributing its hourly live news and Japanese lifestyle programming. The network’s new brand takes effect in April to establish wider global recognition for the service’s Japanese roots in advance of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
ATL PBS will feature NHK WORLD-JAPAN programs including: “NHK NEWSLINE,” “Dining with the Chef” and “Journeys in Japan.” “NHK NEWSLINE” delivers a fair and impartial international newscast at the top of the hour. “Dining with the Chef” showcases demonstrations of easy-to-make Japanese dishes by Chef Tatsuo Saito and cooking researcher, Rika Yukimasa. “Journeys in Japan” explores local cultures and lifestyles while offering travel hints rarely found in guidebooks. Additionally, NHK WORLD will bring its mascot DJ DOMO to Momocon 2018 in Atlanta on May 24 through May 27, 2018.
